-No, you cannot. You could attempt it yes, but it will most likely result in serious injury in the end.
Ballet dancers have to train for years before they can even consider pointe. They take several classes a week for at least 3 years, along with pre-pointe later on until they're allowed by a professional teacher to start pointe.
To stand and dance en pointe, you need to have strong ballet technique, be done growing, and have strong physical strength. If you're under the age of 12, you could actually deform your bones since you're usually still growing then.
Also, if you don't have any ballet technique, how could you manage pointe? Ballet and pointe are the exact same thing except in different shoes. If you can't do it in flat shoes, then by no means will you be able to do it en pointe!
How would you know what you're doing anyways? What's right and what's wrong? You could be sickling, tying your shoes wrong, breaking in your shoe wrong, or not getting up onto your box. The shoes may not fit correctly at all and result in horrible bunions, nail problems and bleeding. Not fun.
I highly suggest you don't start, or try pointe without real ballet lessons for a few years. Pointe is pretty and impressive yes, that's why many people with little or no training try to do it. However, it's neither pretty nor impressive to people if you haven't a clue what you're doing. You just look like a drunk ballet dancer staggering around en pointe.
You could also really hurt yourself. I've heard horror stories of people who've just stood up en pointe and let go of a chair, fallen, and broken their ankles right on the spot! If you're lucky, a minor injury would be a sprained ankle. But, you could also end up with tendonitis, or a broken ankle/toes. Some bad enough for surgery and possibly permanent damage. You don't want that for life, just for a few minutes of trying to feel pretty with no training do you?
So please, just take ballet classes. It'll be a few years, but if you're patient and serious about it, you'll get to pointe eventually. You don't want to go the rest of your life with screwed up feet because you did something really stupid and foolish would you?
Sorry if I seem harsh but i'm only telling the truth. Hope I helped.Definitely not. If you land wrong, or turn-out too much, you could permanently snap your Achilles tendon, or pop your knee-cap off. These are just the things you might do even without Pointe shoes on. Also, you could fall of the platform and sprain/break your ankle. You need to have the strength and training to do Pointe. Even then, the teacher typically has to okay you, and even watch the fitting. DO NOT DO IT!!!!! For your own safety!!!!!!!!
PS @ TheGentleWarrior: You don't need to be done growing to be en Pointe. I was en Pointe when I was 11, with only 4 years of previous, 1 class-a-week training. As long as you have the strength and proper tequnique, you can be en Pointe as young as 7. Obviously, most teachers won't put kids up at that age, and most kids don't have the strength. Yes, bad technique could potentially deform your FEET, but very unlikely your bones.
NO, sorry if I dissappoint you but I don't want you to hurt yourself. You should have at least 3 or more years of ballet training. But it also depends on how hrd you work, your teacher, how strong you are, how many times you go to class. But i'd say talk to your teacher, and tell her your goal is to someday go up on pointe, ASAP!! now she might tell you to slow down and talk to you about hte dangers of going up on pointe to soon, but I'd say pointe isn't all about strength its also about technique to. so
Hope ihelped:)
nooooooooo. you willl most definately hurt yourself, because your ankles and legs won't be strong enough. you'd have to take regular ballet for at least a year to get on pointe.
You can, though DON'T DO IT! It is not safe You can screw up your feet break or sprain your ankles and well let's just say it won't help you feet.
NO! Definitely not! Unless you want to end up with a sprained ankle & torn ligaments!
