-the question speaks for itselfI have to say it's a waste of time and money for the most part. Unless you get into a school like NYU Tisch, nobody will want to hire you. By the time you finish college you'll be too old to be hired by most companies anyway. Performers don't go to college. Heck, some of them don't even finish high school. If you're not hired between 16-18 you probably never will be.
If you're not looking to perform, but instead want to open a recreational studio, dance is an ok program.
If you simply want to take it as an elective, go for it!
If you're hoping to be a professional performer out of the deal, it won't happen.Totally agree with Artemis.
Too many students are taking dance as an option here in the UK and then carrying on through to Uni, but quite honestly, unless you want to teach through the same system it leads nowhere.
