Should i wear sweats during warm up for a dance class?

-I am starting a ballet tap and jazz class and was wondering what I should wear for warmup in those classes?

Thanks!Hi there!

It really depends on the studio you're going to. Some will have strict uniform codes regarding warm-ups and class. They might have a specific garment or a studio branded uniform. Just ask!

If it's your choice, then certainly wear what's comfortable!

It's so important to keep your body warm with clothes when it's not warm with all the movement yet!

Rudolf Nureyev wore three pairs of tights before he went on stage!

Make sure you can move easily in them, and that you can take them off as soon as you're asked to.

Hope you enjoy your dancing!

Good luck! For ballet you want to wear tight fitted clothing like maybe a leotard and tights because if you wear baggy clothes like sweats then the instructor can't see your form and technique so it would make it more difficult for him/her to correct you. And for tap and jazz, i think as long as your comfortable then its ok. But for tap, make sure your sweats don't cover your feet or ankles because then you'll find it hard to tap and the teacher will find it hard to see your feet.
